Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS)
Skilled nursing care at four state homes, with 276 beds in total

The Idaho Division of Veterans Services runs four veterans homes offering skilled nursing care to veterans and their spouses: Pocatello with 66 beds, Boise with 80 beds, Lewiston with 66 beds and Post Falls with 64 beds. They provide skilled nursing care, physical, occupational and speech therapies, a physical therapy center, recreational and social activities, a dining room, common areas and religious services.

How to apply

Complete the Idaho State Veterans Home admission application and submit it with your proof of eligibility to the home you want. For help, contact the Idaho Division of Veterans Services at 208-780-1300, or call the home directly: Pocatello 208-235-7838, Boise 208-780-1616, Lewiston 208-750-3683, Post Falls 208-415-3434.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing at least 90 days of active duty and an honorable discharge, medical documentation that you need skilled nursing care, proof you are an Idaho resident, your VA pension and Aid and Attendance application or award, and a marriage certificate if you are applying as a spouse.

Eligibility

  • You served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for at least 90 days and received an honorable discharge, or you are the spouse or surviving spouse of an eligible veteran
  • You require skilled nursing care
  • You are a resident of Idaho at the time of application
  • You have applied for, or already receive, a VA pension and Aid and Attendance
