County Veterans Assistance Commissions pay $900 toward funeral expenses for honorably discharged needy veterans and their parents, spouse, surviving spouse or minor children when there is not enough money to cover the cost. In some cases they can also provide emergency food, transportation and other help.

The veteran’s discharge paperwork, the death certificate, proof of your relationship to the veteran, and financial records showing need.
