Illinois Hunting and Fishing License Exemption for Disabled Veterans

Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA), with Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR)
No hunting or fishing license or Habitat Stamp required

A service-connected disability rating of 10 percent or more means you do not need an Illinois hunting or fishing license, and you do not have to buy a Habitat Stamp. This applies no matter which state you live in.

How to apply

Request a Veteran’s Disability Card from your nearest Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs office and show proof of your disability rating.

What you'll need

A letter from the VA confirming a service-connected disability rating of 10 percent or more.

Eligibility

  • You have a service-connected disability rating from the VA of 10 percent or more
  • You hold a Veteran’s Disability Card issued by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs
