If you serve on state active duty with the Illinois National Guard and are hurt, fall ill, become disabled or die in the line of duty, you are covered under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act.

Report the injury or illness through your chain of command and file a claim under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act. For a death, survivors file the claim.

What you'll need

Your state active duty orders, a line of duty determination, and your medical records for the injury or illness. For a death claim, add the death certificate and proof of your relationship.

Eligibility

  • You are an Illinois National Guard service member serving on state active duty, or the survivor of one
  • The injury, illness, disability or death happened in the line of duty
