There is nothing to apply for. Leave your military pay out of the income you report on your Indiana return. If Indiana tax was withheld from it by mistake, file a return to claim the refund.

What you'll need

Your Leave and Earnings Statements or Form W-2 showing the military pay, kept with your tax records.

Eligibility

  • You are an Indiana resident filing an Indiana income tax return
  • You are serving in an active or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces
