Indiana Military Family Leave

Indiana employers, under state law
10 days of unpaid leave per deployment

Indiana employers have to give you 10 days of unpaid leave when a family member gets deployment orders. You can take it in the 30 days before the deployment, while the service member is on leave during the deployment, or within 30 days after the deployment ends.

Give your employer a copy of the service member’s deployment orders and request military family leave.

What you'll need

The service member’s active duty deployment orders and proof of your relationship to them.

Eligibility

  • You are the spouse, parent, grandparent, child or sibling of a service member ordered on an active duty deployment
  • You have been employed by your employer for at least 12 months
  • You take the leave in the 30 days before the deployment, while the service member is on leave during the deployment, or within 30 days after the deployment ends
