Military Service Documents for Indiana Veterans

Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA), with the Indiana State Archives
Free copies of your discharge paperwork when applying for benefits

IDVA and the Indiana State Archives hold DD214s for many veterans who entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Indiana, and will give you a copy free when you are applying for benefits. IDVA usually holds the file for discharges from 1989 onward; for earlier discharges contact the Indiana State Archives at 317-591-5222. IDVA or a county veterans service officer can also help you request other records from the federal government.
