Iowa offers 24 distinctive license plates honoring service members, veterans, retired service members and certain family members. They can go on automobiles, multipurpose vehicles, sport utility vehicles, vans, motorcycles, trucks, motor homes, trailers and travel trailers. Each plate has its own eligibility and documentation rules.

Proof of eligibility for the specific plate, usually your DD214 or official documentation of the award the plate honors.
