Kansas Educational Benefits for Dependents of Veterans of the Vietnam War

Kansas Office of Veterans Services (KOVS)
Tuition and fees waived for up to the equivalent of 12 semesters

You can attend a Kansas public college or university without paying tuition and fees if your parent died as a result of service in Vietnam. The benefit covers up to the equivalent of 12 semesters of instruction, and once you are eligible you cannot be disqualified.

What you'll need

The veteran's discharge paperwork, VA documentation that their death resulted from a service-connected disability incurred in Vietnam, proof the veteran entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Kansas, and proof of your relationship to the veteran.

Eligibility

  • You are the child, adopted child or child in the custody of a veteran who died from a service-connected disability incurred in Vietnam
  • The veteran entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Kansas
  • You are enrolled at a Kansas public institution of higher learning
