Kansas Educational Master's for Enhanced Readiness and Global Excellence (EMERGE) Tuition Assistance Program

Tuition and fees up to 15 credit hours per semester, capped at the maximum state educational institution rate

Tuition and fees for an advanced degree are covered while you serve in the Kansas National Guard, up to 15 credit hours a semester and up to the highest rate charged by a state educational institution. Using the program adds a service obligation that starts at the end date of the last course it paid for.

What you'll need

Proof you are serving in the Kansas National Guard in good standing, your program enrollment information, a FAFSA on file at your school, and your transcripts at the end of each semester.

Eligibility

  • You are currently serving in the Kansas National Guard in good standing and not flagged
  • You are enrolled in a program at a Kansas educational institution
  • You have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid on file at the institution
  • You use any federal tuition assistance you are eligible for first
  • You submit your transcripts to your unit at the end of each semester
  • If you use the program for a master's degree, you accept a 48-month service obligation and maintain a cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • If you use the program for a professional or doctorate degree, including a juris doctor or physician assistant program, you accept a 72-month service obligation and maintain a cumulative 3.00 GPA
