If you are injured, become ill, become disabled or die in the line of duty while on state active duty with the Kansas National Guard, the state covers your medical care and pays compensation.

How to apply

Report the injury or illness through your chain of command and file a line of duty determination. Survivors should contact the Kansas Adjutant General's Department.

What you'll need

Your state active duty orders, a line of duty determination and your medical records. Survivors also need the death certificate and proof of their relationship to the service member.

Eligibility

  • You are serving in the Kansas National Guard, or you are the survivor of a Kansas National Guard service member
  • The injury, illness, disability or death happened in the line of duty while serving on state active duty
