Kansas Public Employees Retirement System Military Service Credit

Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS)
Up to five years of granted credit at no cost, plus up to six years of purchased credit

Your military service can count toward your KPERS retirement, which raises your monthly retirement benefit and may let you retire earlier. KPERS grants up to five years of credit at no cost when military service interrupts your public service, and you can separately purchase up to six years, counting each year of active duty as a year and each year in a reserve component as a quarter year.
