You pay in-state tuition at every Kansas public college and university no matter how long you have lived in Kansas. Spouses and dependent children of veterans and service members also get in-state rates.

Contact the Office of the Registrar at the school you plan to attend and ask them to confirm your eligibility for resident rates.

What you'll need

Your DD214 or military ID, or documentation of your relationship to the veteran or service member if you are a spouse or child.

Eligibility

  • You are enrolling at a Kansas public postsecondary college or university
  • You are a veteran eligible for federal education benefits, a current member of the U.S. Armed Forces, or the spouse or dependent child of one
