Kansas State Employee Differential Pay for Active Duty Service

Difference between state pay and military pay and allowances, up to $1,000 per pay period

If your military pay is lower than your Kansas state pay, the state makes up the difference while you are on active duty for 30 days or more. The most you can receive is $1,000 per pay period.

Give your agency's human resources office a copy of your active duty orders and your military pay information. For more information call 785-296-5376.

What you'll need

Your active duty orders and your military Leave and Earnings Statements showing your pay and allowances.

Eligibility

  • You are a Kansas state employee
  • You are serving in the National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces Reserves
  • You are ordered to active military duty for 30 days or more
  • Your military pay and allowances are less than your state employee pay
