Kansas Vietnam War Era Medallion Program

Kansas gives Vietnam era veterans a medallion, a medal and a certificate of appreciation. Only one award is issued in each veteran's name, and a spouse or the eldest living survivor can apply after the veteran's death.

How to apply

Complete the Kansas Vietnam War Era Medallion Program application and submit it as the form directs, with the documentation the form lists.

What you'll need

The veteran's discharge paperwork showing active duty service between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975 and an honorable discharge, and proof of Kansas residency when they entered or left the service or at the time of death.

Eligibility

  • You served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces at any time between February 28, 1961 and May 7, 1975, no matter where you served
  • You were a Kansas resident when you entered or were discharged from the U.S. Armed Forces, or at the time of death
  • You received an honorable discharge
