Kentucky Disabled Sportsman’s License for Resident Veterans

$12 a year for a combined hunting, fishing and permit package

Kentucky resident veterans with a VA service-connected disability rating of 50 percent or more can buy a Disabled Sportsman’s License for $12 a year. It bundles the combination hunting and fishing licences, all deer permits, the spring and fall turkey permits, the Kentucky migratory bird and waterfowl permit and the trout permit.

How to apply

First request a disability licence authorization number, which is good for three years, by submitting your VA Benefit Summary Letter online through the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources My Profile page, or by mail, fax to 502-564-9845, or in person at Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources, Disability License, 1 Sportsman’s Lane, Frankfort, KY 40601. Once you have the authorization, buy the licence as normal.

A VA Benefit Summary Letter verifying a service-connected disability rating of 50 percent or more, showing your current address and the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Eligibility

  • You are a Kentucky resident
  • You have a service-connected disability rating of 50 percent or more from the VA
  • You have a current Kentucky disability licence authorization number
