Kentucky High School Diploma Program for Veterans of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War

Kentucky school districts will issue you a high school diploma if you left high school before graduating to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II, the Korean Conflict or the Vietnam War.

How to apply

Send a copy of your discharge paperwork, plus the name of the high school and district you attended, to the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs, 1111 Louisville Road, Frankfort, KY 40601.

What you'll need

A copy of your discharge paperwork showing an honorable discharge during one of the qualifying periods, and the name of the school and district where you attended high school.

Eligibility

  • You are a Kentucky resident
  • You left high school before graduating to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You served between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946, between June 25, 1950 and January 27, 1955, or between August 5, 1964 and May 7, 1975, with the Vietnam period starting February 28, 1961 if you served in Vietnam before August 5, 1964
  • You received an honorable discharge
