Kentucky Veterans Cemeteries

Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs (KDVA)
Free burial for veterans; $500 for a non-veteran burial

Kentucky has five state veterans cemeteries: Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, Central in Radcliff, North in Williamstown, South East in Hyden, and North East in Grayson, Greenup County. Each provides a grave or columbarium space, opening and closing the grave, perpetual care, a marker or headstone, and an optional concrete grave liner for casket burials. Burial of a veteran is free of charge; a non-veteran burial costs $500. If you apply for and receive a National Cemetery Administration commemorative urn or plaque, you lose eligibility for burial at a Kentucky veterans cemetery.
