Louisiana Homestead Property Tax Exemption for Disabled Veterans

Local Louisiana parish tax assessor
All property taxes exempt at 100 percent, individual unemployability or totally disabled; $4,500 of assessed value at 70 to 99 percent; $2,500 at 50 to 69 percent

You can exempt more of your home’s assessed value from property tax if you have a service-connected disability. A rating of 100 percent, individual unemployability, or totally disabled exempts the home from all property taxes. A rating of 70 to 99 percent adds an exemption of $4,500 of assessed value, and a rating of 50 to 69 percent adds $2,500. These come on top of the standard homestead exemption on the first $7,500 of assessed value that Louisiana homeowners get, and local municipal taxes may still apply.
