Louisiana State Veterans Cemeteries

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA)
No cost burial for a veteran; a cemetery fee applies for an eligible spouse or dependent child

Louisiana runs five state veterans cemeteries: Central Louisiana in Leesville, Northeast Louisiana in Rayville, Northwest Louisiana in Keithville, Southeast in Slidell, and Southwest Louisiana in Jennings. Burial includes military funeral honors and committal services, a grave site for casketed or cremated remains, options for above-ground placement of cremated remains, a government headstone or marker, and perpetual care. There is no charge to bury a veteran, but the cemetery charges a fee at the time of burial for an eligible spouse or dependent child.
