If the VA rates you 100 percent service-connected total and permanently disabled and pays you compensation, you can get Maine Disabled Veteran license plates. There is no registration fee for a vehicle registered at less than 26,000 pounds. Holding these plates is also what makes you eligible for free camping at Maine State Parks.
