Free Camping at Maine State Parks for Disabled Veterans

Reservation and camping fees waived at Maine State Parks

Resident disabled veterans who hold Maine Disabled Veteran license plates pay no reservation or camping fees at Maine State Parks. The exemption also covers your spouse and your unmarried children.

How to apply

Send a written request to be added to the Maine State Parks Disabled Veterans’ Camping List to Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, 22 State House Station, Augusta ME 04330, by email to dacf@maine.gov, or by fax to 207-287-2400.

What you'll need

A copy of the Maine Bureau of Motor Vehicles letter stating that you were issued Maine Disabled Veteran license plates.

Eligibility

  • You are a Maine resident
  • You have a 100 percent service-connected total and permanent disability rating from the VA
  • You were issued Maine Disabled Veteran license plates
  • Your spouse and unmarried children qualify through you
