Maine Income Tax Filing and Payment Deadline Extension for Combat Zone Service

Maine Revenue Services
180-day extension plus the days that remained to file or pay when you entered the combat zone

Your deadline for filing a Maine income tax return and paying tax you owe is pushed back 180 days after your last day in a combat zone, or after the last day of continuous hospitalization for an injury from combat zone service. On top of the 180 days, you also get back the number of days you had left to file or pay when you entered the combat zone.

Eligibility

  • You are a Maine resident filing a Maine income tax return
  • You served in a combat zone, or were continuously hospitalized for an injury from combat zone service or from qualifying service outside the combat zone
