If you are injured, become ill, become disabled or die in the line of duty while serving on state active duty with the Maine National Guard, you are covered by Maine’s workers’ compensation statutes and can claim benefits and compensation under them.

Report the injury through your chain of command and file a workers’ compensation claim. Survivors should raise the claim with the Maine National Guard.

What you'll need

Your state active duty orders, a line of duty determination, your medical records for the injury or illness, and the death certificate if you are claiming as a survivor.

Eligibility

  • You are a Maine National Guard service member, or the survivor of one
  • You were injured, became ill, became disabled or died in the line of duty
  • You were serving on state active duty at the time
