You can claim temporary income if you lose your job through no fault of your own. It replaces part of your lost wages while you look for other work, is not based on financial need, and is paid for entirely by employers.

How to apply

File a claim on the REEMPLOYME online filing site, creating an account if you are a new user, or call 800-593-7660 between 8am and 3pm Monday to Friday.

What you'll need

Your Social Security number or Alien Registration number, the business name, address, phone number and employment dates for every place you worked in the past 18 months, the Social Security numbers of any children you mainly supported, your DD214 if you served in the past 18 months, and an SF8 or SF50 if you were a federal employee in the past 18 months.

Eligibility

  • You lost your job through no fault of your own
  • You are actively seeking work
  • You are able and available to work
  • You have enough work history and earnings in the past five quarters to be monetarily eligible
