Grants of up to $2,000, with dental emergencies capped at $500

Maine resident veterans facing an emergency without the means to cover it can get a grant of up to $2,000. It can cover home damage not covered by insurance, illness of you or a family member, preventing homelessness, dental emergencies up to $500, and any other situation that puts your food, shelter or safety at risk.

Your DD214 showing an honorable or general under honorable conditions discharge, proof of Maine residency, and documentation of the emergency expense.
