When you apply for Maine state employment as a qualified veteran or eligible surviving spouse, you are guaranteed an interview. If you are not hired, the Bureau of Human Resources will help you find other state openings you may qualify for.

What you'll need

A copy of your DD214, or a copy of the service member’s DD Form 1300 Report of Casualty if you are the surviving spouse.

Eligibility

You are applying for Maine state employment and are qualified for the position
You served on active duty or in a reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces and received a discharge other than dishonorable, or you are a surviving spouse eligible to receive the Gold Star Lapel Button
