Maryland National Guard State Tuition Waiver (STW)

Tuition waived at partner institutions; 25 or 50 percent for classes at Guard locations

Maryland colleges, universities and trade schools that partner with the Maryland National Guard waive tuition for undergraduate or graduate courses if you serve in the Guard. Each school sets its own number of waiver seats and credit hours. Classes held at Maryland National Guard locations carry a 25 percent or 50 percent waiver no matter how many seats are left. Professional courses are not covered.

Get a State Tuition Waiver letter from the Maryland National Guard education office and give it to your school. Email mdngeducation@army.mil or call 667-296-4139 or 667-296-4144 for help.

What you'll need

Your State Tuition Waiver letter, proof you are in good standing in the Maryland National Guard, and your school enrollment information.

Eligibility

You are a Maryland National Guard service member in good standing
You have a two-year service obligation remaining from the course start date
You are enrolled at a Maryland institution or trade school that partners in education with the Maryland National Guard
Your course is an undergraduate or graduate course rather than a professional course
