Maryland’s Commitment to Veterans Program

Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration
No-cost referral, peer support and suicide prevention services

You can get help finding mental health and substance use treatment through this program, which connects service members, veterans and families with federal, state and local providers. It also offers peer support, community outreach, suicide prevention services and training, and runs the Sheila E. Hixson Behavioral Health Services Matching Grant Program for nonprofit behavioral health programs serving the military community.

What you'll need

Nothing to start with. Have your DD214 handy if you are asked to confirm service for a specific referral.

  • You are a service member, veteran or the family member of one
  • You live in Maryland
  • You need mental health or substance use treatment, or support finding it
