10 points added to a passing selection test score, plus 2 points for a former prisoner of war and 5 for a disability

When Maryland uses a selection test for a state job, 10 points are added to your passing score as a veteran with an honorable discharge or a certificate of satisfactory completion, as the spouse of a veteran with a service-connected disability, or as the surviving spouse of a deceased eligible veteran. A former prisoner of war gets 2 more points, and an applicant with a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act gets 5 more.
