Maryland Unemployment Insurance

Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance
Partial, short-term wage replacement, with dependent allowances for up to five children

You can claim temporary income if you lose your job through no fault of your own. It replaces part of your lost wages while you look for other work and is not meant to be a permanent income. You can also claim for dependent children under 16 whom you support, up to five, though only one parent may claim a given child during the one-year benefit period.
