Local Massachusetts housing authorities, overseen by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities
Continued occupancy that cannot be denied

A Massachusetts public housing project cannot deny you continued occupancy if you are a veteran, the surviving spouse of one, or a Gold Star Mother who has lived there for the last eight consecutive years. The unit has to have two bedrooms or fewer, and your rent cannot be more than three months past due.
