Massachusetts Veterans' Treatment Courts

Massachusetts Trial Court
Treatment-based handling of a criminal case in a veteran-specific court session

If you are a veteran facing a criminal case, a Veterans’ Treatment Court can handle it through a coordinated effort among veterans service agencies, community providers and the court, addressing underlying post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and military sexual trauma. You have to abstain from drugs and alcohol, attend the required treatment, and appear before the court weekly. Sessions sit at the Central Division of the Boston Municipal Court and at the Lawrence, Framingham, Dedham, Brockton, Holyoke and Gardner District Courts.
