Massachusetts Vietnam Conflict Bonus

Massachusetts Office of the State Treasurer, Veterans' Bonus Division
$300 in the Vietnam theater, $200 elsewhere after six months, or $300 to the family of a service member who died on active duty

Serving on active duty between July 1, 1958 and May 17, 1975 earns you $300 if you served in the Vietnam theater of operations, or $200 if you served six months or more anywhere else. If the service member died on active duty, a family member can claim $300.

Apply through the Massachusetts Veterans' Bonus Division page for World War II, Korean War and Vietnam Conflict bonuses. Most Vietnam veterans have already been paid, so check the Veterans' Bonus Inquiry page first.

What you'll need

The DD214 showing service dates and locations, proof the veteran lived in Massachusetts for the six months before entering the U.S. Armed Forces, and casualty documentation if you are claiming as a family member.

Eligibility

  • The veteran lived in Massachusetts for the six months immediately before entering the U.S. Armed Forces
  • The veteran served on active duty between July 1, 1958 and May 17, 1975
  • You are the veteran, or the family member of a service member who died on active duty
  • You have confirmed on the Veterans’ Bonus Inquiry page that no bonus was already issued
