Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs Dental Assistance for Veterans and their Families

Local County or Tribal Veterans Service Officer, with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs
Up to $1,500 a year, plus one-time authorizations of up to $4,000 for dentures and up to $2,500 for extractions

You can get up to $1,500 a year for routine dental exams, extractions and denture procedures, for yourself or your dependents. If dentures are necessary MDVA can issue a further denture authorization of up to $4,000, once per lifetime, plus a tooth extraction authorization of up to $2,500, once per lifetime, in preparation for them. Eligibility is based on your income and assets.

What you'll need

Your DD214, proof of Minnesota residency, documentation of your income and assets, and your dentist’s treatment plan.

  • You are a Minnesota veteran, or the dependent of one
  • You meet the program’s income and asset limits
