Minnesota Disabled Veteran Vehicle Registration Fee, Title Fee and Sales Tax Exemptions

Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS)
Registration fee waived on up to two vehicles, title fee waived on up to two vehicles, and sales tax waived on one vehicle

With a 100 percent total and permanent service-connected disability rating or an individual unemployability rating you pay no registration fee on up to two vehicles, no title fee on up to two vehicles bought on or after 1 January 2024, and no sales tax on one vehicle bought on or after 1 July 2024. The sales tax exemption can be used for mopeds, motorcycles, passenger vehicles, recreational vehicles, trailers and all trucks. If the VA gave you a grant to buy or modify a vehicle for your disability, that vehicle is also sales tax exempt.
