How to apply

The application is closed. If you already applied, check status through the MDVA account you used (the same login as Minnesota GI Bill or Veteran Owned Business Certification) or call LinkVet at 1-888-546-5838. Late applicants should ask a County Veteran Service Officer whether any remaining path exists.

What you'll need

Your DD214 or other discharge papers, proof of a qualifying campaign medal if you are claiming the $1,200 amount, a W-9, and proof of Minnesota residency if MDVA asks for it.

Eligibility

  • You served on active duty between 11 September 2001 and 30 August 2021, or you are the beneficiary of someone who did
  • You applied on or before 30 June 2024, or MDVA is still processing an application filed by that date
