Mississippi Housing Unit for Military Veterans (HUM-V)

Mississippi Veterans Affairs with the Mississippi Department of Corrections
Counseling, job training and vocational education before release

Incarcerated veterans within 12 to 18 months of release can transfer to a veterans-only housing unit at the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility to prepare for life after prison. The programme runs in two phases: basic training covering good citizenship, computer literacy, cognitive behaviour therapy, anger management and co-dependent relationships, then Veterans Career Education and Training, a technical school with vocational skills and job training before release.
