Mississippi Re-Employment Rights for Service Members

Mississippi employers, under state law
Return to your previous or a similar position with the same status, pay and seniority

If you leave your job for active state duty, state training duty or any other military duty authorized under Title 10 or Title 32, Mississippi law entitles you to return to your previous or a similar position with the same status, pay and seniority.

How to apply

Notify your employer before you leave and give them your orders. Contact them again to arrange reemployment when your service ends, and give them your discharge or release paperwork.

Your military orders and your discharge or release paperwork showing a discharge under conditions other than dishonorable.

Eligibility

  • You are serving in an active or reserve component of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You left a job for active state duty, state training duty or other military duty authorized under Title 10 or Title 32
  • You received a discharge under conditions other than dishonorable
