Mississippi State Educational Assistance Program (SEAP)

Mississippi National Guard Education Services Office
Up to $10,000 per state fiscal year at colleges and universities, up to $5,000 at junior and community colleges

If you serve in the Mississippi National Guard, the state pays your tuition for undergraduate study and career and technical training at accredited Mississippi schools. Colleges and universities are covered up to $10,000 per state fiscal year, at $5,000 a semester full time or $2,500 a semester part time. Junior and community colleges are covered up to $5,000 per fiscal year, at $2,500 a semester full time or $1,250 part time. Vocational and credentialing programs are covered up to the full cost of the program, capped at $10,000 per fiscal year. You have a 10-year window from your first payment before eligibility expires.

What you'll need

Proof that you are in good standing in the Mississippi National Guard and have completed basic training or joined the ROTC Simultaneous Membership Program, your Mississippi voter registration, and your school enrollment information.

Eligibility

  • You have completed basic training or joined the Reserve Officer Training Corps Simultaneous Membership Program
  • You are an enlisted service member, a warrant officer in grades WO1 through CW4, or a commissioned officer in grades O1 through O4
  • You are a registered Mississippi voter
  • You are serving in the Mississippi National Guard in good standing and are enlisted through the end of the school term
  • You are enrolled in an accredited Mississippi college, university, community college, vocational or credentialing program
  • You maintain a 2.0 semester GPA, or satisfactorily complete a vocational course that does not produce a GPA
