Mississippi Veterans Affairs (MSVA)
Burial with grave opening and closing, committal shelter, headstone and perpetual care

Mississippi has two veterans memorial cemeteries, in Newton and in Kilmichael, providing burial for veterans and their eligible family members. Each burial includes opening and closing the gravesite, use of the committal shelter for services, supply and installation of a headstone or marker, and perpetual care. Your family can request military funeral honors through the funeral director, which may include the playing of Taps, a rifle detail, a colour guard and presentation of the burial flag to the next of kin.
