Missouri Commercial Driver License Military Skills Test Waiver

Missouri Department of Revenue, Motor Vehicle and Driver Licensing Division
CDL skills test waived

If you have military commercial vehicle driving training and experience, Missouri will waive the skills test portion of the commercial driver license exam. You still have to take the knowledge test.

How to apply

Submit the Missouri Department of Revenue Application for Military CDL Skills Test Waiver, Form 5140, when you apply for your CDL.

What you'll need

Documentation that you were regularly employed in the year before you apply in a job requiring you to operate a commercial motor vehicle, and that you operated that vehicle for the two years immediately before you left the military.

Eligibility

  • You are a current or former service member with military commercial vehicle driving training and experience
  • You were regularly employed within one year before you apply in a job requiring you to operate a commercial motor vehicle
  • You operated that vehicle for at least the two years immediately before you separated from the military
  • You still take the CDL knowledge test
