Missouri Hunting and Fishing Without a Permit for Disabled Veterans and Recovering Service Members

No permit needed to hunt or fish, apart from deer, turkey and migratory bird permits and conservation stamps

You can fish and hunt in Missouri without a permit if you are an honorably discharged disabled veteran or a qualifying service member. Trapping is not included, and you still need permits for deer, turkey and migratory birds as well as any conservation stamps.

How to apply

There is nothing to apply for. Carry your certified statement of eligibility from the VA, or your orders showing your assignment, whenever you hunt or fish.

What you'll need

A certified statement of eligibility from the VA, or orders showing your assignment to a Warrior Transition Brigade, Warrior Transition Unit or military medical center.

Eligibility

  • You are an honorably discharged veteran or a current service member
  • You have a service-connected disability of 60 percent or more, you are a former prisoner of war, or you are assigned as a patient to a Warrior Transition Brigade, Warrior Transition Unit or military medical center
  • You carry your certified VA statement of eligibility or your assignment orders whenever you hunt or fish
