Missouri Priority of Service for Veterans in Employment and Training Programs

Priority over non-veterans for federally funded employment and training programs

State agencies that run federally funded employment and training programs have to serve qualified veterans and their spouses ahead of other applicants.

How to apply

Tell the Missouri Job Center or program office that you are claiming veterans priority of service when you apply, and show your service documentation.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing at least one day of active duty and an honorable discharge, or, for a spouse, your marriage certificate plus the veteran's casualty, disability or death documentation.

Eligibility

  • You served at least one day on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, not counting active duty for training, and received an honorable discharge; or you are the spouse or unremarried spouse of a veteran who died of a service-connected disability, of a service member listed for 90 or more days as missing in action, captured in the line of duty by a hostile force, or forcibly detained or interned in the line of duty by a foreign government or power, of a veteran with a total service-connected disability rating from the VA, or of a veteran who died while a disability was in existence
  • You are applying to a federally funded employment or training program administered in Missouri
