As a Missouri state employee serving in the National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces Reserves you get 120 work hours of paid leave each federal fiscal year for required military duty, with no reduction in pay, benefits or performance appraisals. Permanent state employees can also take unpaid leave for involuntary induction, a reserve component call to active duty, voluntary entry into the U.S. Armed Forces for up to five years, an involuntary service extension, required active and inactive duty training, or basic training.
Give your agency's human resources office a copy of your military orders and request military leave before you go.
