As a MOSERS member you can buy up to four years of active duty military service credit for service that happened before you became a member, including active duty for training. If you take military leave from state employment to serve on active duty and then come back, you get credit for the whole time you served. You can also keep your state life insurance and long-term disability coverage for one year while on active duty if you keep paying any required premiums.
