Ask a qualifying organization whether it will act as your substitute address, then give that address when you apply for state or federal assistance.

What you'll need

The organization's written agreement to act as your substitute address, and your proof of service if the assistance program asks for it.

Eligibility

  • You are a homeless veteran
  • The organization you want to use exists to provide charitable, religious, fraternal or veterans services
  • The organization has been providing those services for more than 10 years
  • The organization is willing to be your substitute address
