Email a completed Application for Military Skills Waiver, including your commanding officer’s certification, to dmv.cdlcompliance@nebraska.gov. A DMV representative replies by email within three business days if the waiver is approved, and then tells you how to see a DMV examiner in person to apply for your CDL.

• You are currently licensed to drive
• You are serving, or served within the past year, in a military position that requires operating a military vehicle equivalent to a commercial motor vehicle
• You have not held more than one license other than a military license, and have never had a license suspended, revoked or cancelled
• You have no conviction for a disqualifying major offense and no more than one conviction for a disqualifying serious traffic violation in any type of motor vehicle
• You have no conviction for violating military, state or local traffic laws arising from a traffic accident, other than a parking violation, and no record of an at-fault accident
