Nebraska Driver's License Expiration Extension for Active Duty Service Members and Their Families

Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles
License remains valid until 60 days after discharge or return to Nebraska

If you are on active duty stationed outside Nebraska, your Nebraska driver's license stays valid until 60 days after your discharge or after you return to Nebraska, whichever is later. Your dependents get the same extension. The DMV sends you a Form 07-08 card that attaches to your license.

How to apply

Send a signed, dated written request to the Nebraska DMV, Driver and Vehicle Records Division, Attn: Military Exemption, PO Box 94789, Lincoln NE 68509-4789, by fax to 402-471-8694, or by email to dmv.dvrweb@nebraska.gov.

What you'll need

A copy of your Nebraska driver's license, a copy of your current orders, and the address where the Form 07-08 card should be mailed.
