If you are injured, become ill, become disabled or die while serving on state active duty with the Nebraska National Guard, you are covered for medical care and compensation under the Nebraska Workers' Compensation Act.

How to apply

Report the injury or illness through your chain of command as soon as it happens and file a claim through the Nebraska National Guard. Disputed claims go to the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court.

What you'll need

Your state active duty orders, a line of duty determination, and your medical records for the injury or illness. Survivors also need the death certificate.

Eligibility

  • You are a Nebraska National Guard service member serving on state active duty, or the survivor of one
  • You were injured, became ill or became disabled on that duty, or your service member died on it
